Is mother nature a spiritual entity within herself?
John T asked:
I find it somewhat depressing that humanity is the ultimate cause of chance, how we all derived from single celled protists. Can someone tell me some alternatives? Is mother nature, Earth, a spiritual entity that has the direct capability to think and make decisions, or is that God? Life is completely over-rated, when you think about it. We all really are insignificant, now matter which way you slice the pie, and I can’t get over this fact.
Everything seems so meaningless now.

No. Mother nature is not an entity.

Yes and so is the universe.
Identification with self is meaningless, but Life isn’t

Why do you find it depressing? Your alive be happy, I mean do you have something better to do than live right now? You could go back to how it was before you were born… remember how boring that was?

You think its depressing? I think its cool. I think understanding how life came to be is endlessly interesting and enlightening.

Hi there
Sorry you are feeling like that. Some people who worship the Goddess see her as a form of ‘mother nature’ in that She provides us her children with all we need. Earth is seen as her body, water her blood, air her breath and fire her spirit.
If you want to read up a bit more try looking up ‘Gaia’ – the Goddess not the website – for more information.
